Where's your favourite walk. Do you venture out into the countryside or do you stick to country parks and parks in winter time?
Winter is the best time for a walk in the steps of history
History lessons shouldn't just come from textbooks and TV programmes. One of the best ways to get your family hooked on history is to go out and see it for yourselves. On a chilly but crisp and bright winter's weekend we reckon that a trip to a castle, an abbey or an ancient stone circle offers the ideal focus for a family trip. If you can add in an historical tale or two and a short walk while you're enjoying some quality time together then all the better.

I go walking pretty much the same places as I do in summer. The weather and the terrain in the Peak District isn't too severe.

Is anyone planning any walks over Christmas holidays? Boxing day is always popular.

My favorite walk trail is The Western Highlands in Scotland. If you're looking for a marvelously scenic and picturesque landscape, together with the highest density in Scotland, then head towards the Western Highlands. The great mountains that characterize this part of Scotland make it one of the most popular hill-walking destinations in the country. The mountainous terrain, the deep valleys and thick, green forests provide all hill-walkers with a unique experience that won't be forgotten.
