Hello, Im new on here just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Devon, been walking for a while now and me and my boyfriend are doing a walk for Cancer Research and The Gut Cancer Support Group, we are going to walk from Dartmouth to Coventry in October, we are going to camp along the way worked out route and stops etc. Just wondering if anyone could offer us any advice on gear or anything , it will be mainly road walking so need some suitable footwear . Thank you ;D

Yes, keep it as light as possible. The weight soon adds up with a tent, mat, stove, pans, mugs, opener, matches, water proofs, water supply, food. I'd go for trainer boots rather than leather boots, they have more bounce. Water proof them well. Boots give more support to the ankle for when you stumble off the edge of the road. I wish you luck.
