Thought I'd start this forum off by promoting the Yorkshire Wolds Way - A fantastic long distance path that seems to be overlooked, however the route offers some fantastic walking through the East Riding of Yorkshire. The following site details everything that's needed to try out a path that is not just demanding but everyone who completes it will be glad that they did www.nationaltrail.co.uk/YorkshireWoldsWay/The YWW can easily be broken up into day walks and also provides other walks that branches off the main route. My walking blog (although this is very new and I'm still working on it shows walks around the Yorkshire Wolds and also others around East Yorkshire)

The Yorkshire Wolds way is a landscape of softly rounded chalk hills, secluded dry valleys, rolling fields of crops dotted with bright red poppies, green pastures echoing to the cries of sheep and lambs, flower-filled hedgerows, wooded dells and sleepy little villages with welcoming old pubs. Yorkshire Wolds Way offers good walking experience for anyone. It is relatively low level, and definitely not a challenge walk, but a satisfying experience, and good holiday.
