With the imminent release of Bill Brysons book, I thought I'd ask if anyone has walked this famous trail, or I you want to, or would do.
I've read the book and it sounds far more extreme than anything around Britain. I'm really looking forward to seeing the film. I'm sure its release will boost the footpaths usage for both section walkers and trail hikers.
I like the sound of it because its a completely 'new' trail set out through woodland rather than a path made up of joining existing bits of pathway like we do here in Britain. The trail also moves each season, only small sections but as necessary to complete maintenance or allow recovery it does get moved. It certainly isn't the original route as planned. It has a fascinating history. I may do a write up closer to its release date.
